Equality and diversity

Central College for Animal Studies is committed to equality of opportunity for all.

Equality

We strive to ensure that students and staff are treated fairly and have equal access to learning and education, regardless of age, disability, gender, race, religion, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, marriage and civil partnership, or social class.

Students are able to apply for reasonable adjustments or special considerations when completing theoretical and/or practical tasks and examinations, and Central College will strive to accommodate these requests where possible.

Central College is committed to equal opportunities in employment. Our policies for recruitment, selection, training, development and promotion ensure that individuals are selected, promoted and otherwise treated solely on the basis of their relevant aptitudes, skills and abilities.

Diversity

In addition to our equality policy, we also celebrate and respect diversity by creating an inclusive culture for all staff and students. Further, we encourage staff and students to challenge inequality and discrimination in their place of study/work, in order to eliminate harassment and victimisation.

Our equal opportunities and diversity policy is reviewed annually and continually monitored through collating information on diversity, requests and special considerations, access arrangements and feedback from students and employees.
