Veterinary Nursing

A well-trained veterinary nursing team is key to the successful daily running of veterinary practices. The responsibilities of the veterinary nursing team are extremely varied and they are faced with new challenges every day.

At all times the nursing team must be able to do what is best for the animals entrusted to their care. Similarly, veterinary nursing staff have an important role in educating owners in animal care and welfare.

If you are enthusiastic, caring and a good communicator who enjoys working with animals, a career in veterinary nursing could be for you. For more information, we have produced a helpful guide to becoming a veterinary nurse, which is available to download here.

Our courses provide students with the necessary knowledge, skills and practical competencies to be a valued member of the veterinary practice team. For all qualifications, clinical placement in a veterinary training practice is essential to ensure students are confident in a veterinary environment.

A career in veterinary nursing is physically and emotionally demanding, but at the same time, extremely rewarding. There are also various options for career development and progression; from specialising in various advanced competencies and leading the veterinary nursing team, to practice management, education and training the veterinary nurses of the future.
